Vern Rabern, the CEO of Eclipse Aviation, has stepped down from his position in the company, it has been announced at Oshkosh.
The company says that the move is part of the arrangements for a new round of financing which the company has received. He will be replaced by Eclipse Aviation Chairman Roel Pieper.
Raburn has been both lionised and criticised in his time at Eclipse. He oversaw the Eclipse 500 project through to the first delivery and beyond – and thereby also created the VLJ phenomenon; however, he also came under attack during the various problems which the type suffered in the road to production.
He is to continue in a role connected with the company, as Vice Chairman of ETIRCAviation, Eclipse’s largest shareholder.
