A new UK based airline pilot and cabin crew training company has just been launched. It’s EmPower Flight which will start running courses in late February with an emphasis on sustainability and innovation.
EmPower Flight will deliver Airline Pilot Standard-Multi-Crew Cooperation (APS-MCC) training while an associated company, EmPower Crew, will deliver Cabin Crew Attestation (CCA) programmes. Behind EmPower is a team of aviation professionals and former airline training captains.
Andrew Perkins, CEO, EmPower Flight, said, “We want to create a culture that’s led with integrity, excellence and respect ensuring our graduates are equipped for both today’s and tomorrow’s aviation industry.
“Whilst many training providers and conventional flying schools only focus on technical proficiency, our ambition is to introduce education on sustainable technologies and sustainable operational thinking from Day 1.”
Students on the APS-MCC course will train on an Airbus A320 Neo simulator, based at British Airways’ Flight Training facility at London Heathrow, with Virtual Reality (VR) supported learning tools for pre-course preparation.
The APS-MCC is a 14-day, 40-hour simulator programme combining airline Standard Operating Procedures, scenario-based training, sustainable operations awareness and career-ready skills, with follow-up support into a first commercial role.
For cabin crew, EmPower Crew is offering a seven-day immersive CCA programme which combines industry-standard safety and service training with an introduction to evolving sustainability practices, employability skills and progression support.
Rachel Gardner-Poole, Chief Sustainability and Growth Officer at EmPower Flight, added, “Our courses are designed and delivered by instructors with many years of commercial airline experience, ensuring training reflects real-world operations and recruiter expectations.
“With new and advanced technologies emerging to reduce our sector’s environmental impact, now is the time to encourage future aviation professionals to think differently and lead innovatively.”
