AERO Friedrichshafen GA show announces flying-in slots

How to fly to AERO Friedrichshafen – and 50% off for FLYER Club members

+VIDEO Pilots flying in to AERO Friedrichshafen 2026 will be able to pre-register for arrival and departure slots from 12 February.

Plus, members of the FLYER Club can get 50% off the price of a one-day ticket whether or not they are flying or arriving at the show by other transport.

AERO is the world’s largest general aviation trade show and takes place this year from 22–25 April 2026, as usual on the exhibition grounds adjacent to Friedrichshafen Airport, allowing visiting pilots to arrive directly by air.

The slot booking system, first introduced in 2024, has been reviewed by organisers, the airport, air traffic control and security authorities, with minor refinements aimed at reallocating unused slots more efficiently. The total number of available slots remains unchanged from previous years.

Pilots intending to arrive during the show can pre-register online from 12 February 2026. From mid-March, registered users will be notified in stages when they can book and pay for mandatory arrival and departure time windows.

Organisers say the staged approach ensures a fair and transparent distribution of slots, while allowing pilots to update personal details and amend bookings as required.

As in recent years, the pilot package for arriving aircraft includes a complimentary one-day trade fair ticket. A slot reservation fee will be charged at the time of booking, with landing, parking and any additional services invoiced after the show in a single consolidated bill.

Security procedures will again include licence checks at the crew tent prior to departure, along with verification that passengers have been registered in advance. Shuttle transport between aircraft and the crew tent will be mandatory.

Tobias Bretzel, AERO Project Manager, said slot allocation remains a sensitive topic in general aviation, but added that the current process has proved customer-friendly while making the best possible use of available capacity.

Ultralight pilots will once again be accommodated at Markdorf gliding airfield, around 10km west of Friedrichshafen, which will serve as the designated AERO UL airfield during the show.

Alternative arrival options with shuttle connections are also available via Mengen, Leutkirch and Konstanz, while Biberach offers a rail connection to Friedrichshafen.
