FLYER launches NPPL review forum

As you may be aware, proposals are being made for major changes to the way the National Private Pilots licence (NPPL) works in practice in the UK. The new proposals affect not just the NPPL itself – they will also affect anybody who at some might transfer from a JAA licence to an NPPL, or move to (say) a microlight licence.

As the proposals have been formulated by the main GA organisations (including BMAA, BGA, BBGA and PFA) in conjunction with the CAA, there’s no one source of information which is easily readable and which will help pilots understand what might be on the way.

So we’ve opened up a forum – NPPL review – The Proposals which has two purposes:

1) to help explain what the changes might mean

2) to let pilots discuss their ideas before making their comments to the CAA.

The FLYER Forum does not, of course, take the place of submitting your comments to the CAA for its consideration; however, there are details of how to do this on the Forum.

The FLYER Forums are a highly active discussion place for pilots and those interested in aviation. You’ll need to register to post on them, but the registration process is quick and painless – and well worth the effort!
