Garmin unveils new G3X Touch display

Garmin has announced its G3X Touch, a large touch-screen, glass flight display system for installation in experimental amateur-built and light sport aircraft (LSA).
According to Garmin, the non-certified G3X Touch system offers pilots easy-to-read, easy-to-use, high-resolution 10.6in flight displays with split-screen functionality and a host of advanced interface options.
Carl Wolf, vice president of aviation sales and marketing, said, “The team listened to the requests of our customers and as builders themselves – designing products for the activity they love – have delivered a large, intuitive touchscreen flight display, which offers a number of enhanced capabilities that give our amateur-built and light sport customers what they asked for, and more.”
The G3X Touch display allows pilots the option to view PFD, MFD, and engine information on a single display. It also has Synthetic Vision and video input for cameras or Enhanced Vision Systems. The display layout is configurable and includes a front-loading SD card slot for software and database updates.
Aircraft that will offer the G3X as an option include Van’s RV-12, CubCrafters Carbon Cub, Flight Design C4 and CTLS, five Pipistrel designs, and the Tecnam P2008, P92 Eaglet, ASTORE and P92 Tail Dragger.
A well-equipped, single display G3X Touch system starts at $5,499 and a G3X Touch with EIS starts at $6,099.
