Stratos Aircraft, based at Bend in Oregon, has revealed that it is the latest in a long list of companies intending to produce a VLJ (Very Light Jet). The Stratos 714 is actually been referred to by Stratos as a VLPJ (Very Light Personal Jet).
The specs for the aircraft are fairly impressive: 400kt with a 1,500nm range. “At full payload, average cruising speed and IFR range far beyond any available or announced VLJ” is what the company claims on its website.
The package will cost around $2m, and is projected to be available for first delivery within 18 months – a remarkably quick development period, if they can achieve it.
The company is exhibiting at Oshkosh which starts at the end of next week.
