TL Ultralight is well known for its high tech composite two-seat side-by-side kitplanes and factory-built LSAs such as the Sting and Sirius but now the Czech company has changed direction. Its latest aircraft is the Stream, with two seats in tandem – and the Stream has just had its maiden flight this week.
The flight happened on Tuesday, 8 September at Hradec Kralove Airport where TL Ultralight is based. Few details about the Stream have been released by the company other than it’s powered by a Rotax 912iS with a PowerMax prop, and has a state of the art glass cockpit and robust landing gear.
A video of the first flight is on YouTube (link below). “Words no need. Stream maiden flight. Our pride is unlimited,” said TL Ultralight.
The company said it set out to create a completely different type of aircraft from its others.
“As soon as you sit inside one of our Streams you will get to experience the fighter jet pilot feeling. Tandem seating and sophisticated outline of the aircraft, state of the art glass cockpit and stick furnished with many control devices are just a few features that stand behind the impeccable design, aerodynamic purity and precision in steering and control.”
