UK military veterans offered funding to train as pilots

Wings for Warriors

UK charity Wings for Warriors is looking for applications from UK military veterans with an interest in becoming a commercial pilot.

“This time we’re looking for candidates who will be directly funded through their training by Wings for Warriors and the grant giving organisations who support our work,” said the charity in a statement.

“Candidates must have been medically discharged, are in the process of being medically discharged or have a life changing injury/illness, which was directly caused by military service.

“There are no ‘catches’ but also no guarantees – so please give it serious consideration to whether this is something, which you really want to do before applying via the email address [see below].”

Applications should include an up to date CV, covering letter with a bit about yourself, and a recent reference. Email all this to [email protected] by the closing date of 15 December 2023.

Royal Marine James Taylor

Royal Marine James Taylor was discharged from the Royal Marines due to a rare form of cancer, which tested his bravery in a way he never thought necessary.

“The video [below] shows the kind of transformation our small charity is able to help deliver, which James and his family will continue benefiting from for the rest of his life,” said Wings for Warriors.
