Among all the categories, there's one for Best Sim Instructor

Applying to an Approved Training Organisation (ATO) or sponsored airline programme can be a daunting task for any aspiring young pilot. But help is available.

The Honourable Company of Air Pilots (HCAP) has announced a new initiative aimed at guiding prospective pilots through the process and will include time in a simulator.

This will be an informal course covering:

  • Industry outlook
  • A view on competencies
  • The basics of written applications (including CVs)
  • Numerical reasoning tests
  • Video interviews
  • In-person interviews
  • Group assessments
  • A hands-on simulator profile demonstration.

The event will be run by industry experts who have been involved in pilot recruitment for decades utilising techniques and tests used by major airlines.

The event is one-day and being held at the University of West London (Ealing) on 7 August 2024.

The cost for the day is £145. No profits will be made from the event and any monies remaining after costs will be used to fund flying scholarships.

There are only 20 places available, and reservations will be taken on a first come first served basis. There will be a waiting list available for short notice changes.
