Pilot Careers Live is proud to announce Captain John Monks, Chief Safety and Security Officer at British Airways, as the Guest of Honour at the Professional Flight Training Awards 2026.

Taking place at the Sofitel, London Heathrow Terminal 5 on Friday 6 November, the awards will celebrate attainment and dedication across categories covering pilot training organisations, team members, students and instructors.

With over 33 years of aviation experience, Captain Monks is accountable for all aspects of safety and security across British Airways. His extensive remit spans aviation and occupational safety, aviation security, physical and personnel security, aviation cyber security, and continuing airworthiness, as well as the design and implementation of the airline’s world-class integrated Management System.

Having previously held leadership roles in pilot recruitment, pilot training and aviation safety, risk and compliance, Captain Monks embodies the career progression and dedication to excellence that the Professional Flight Training Awards aim to inspire in the next generation of aviators.

The nomination window opens on Saturday 11 July, until Thursday 10 September.
