Airfields under threat

With the New Year comes news of several airfields which face new or renewed threats .

Redhill Planning application has gone in for an equestrian centre on the site, which would mean that flying activities would have to cease. See the planning documents here

Leicester The Cooperative Society, which is the landowner, has commissioned a report into the possibility of using the land for housing and other activities. See the Leicester Aero Club website.

Kemble We reported before Christmas that Kemble had effectively won a planning enquiry when the council’s submissions turned out to be flawed. The council was expected to re-issue its enforcement papers, but negotations are now said to be under way, by which a compromise may be reached. Potentially good news.?
