Airliner lands short at Heathrow

A BA Boeing 777 has landed short of the runway at Heathrow, causing disruption and delays at the airport.

As yet there is no word on the cause of the incident, in which the aircraft appears to have landed just beyond the localiser equipment on the grass at the start of 27L. It seems that the aircraft then slid for around 350m before coming to halt on the threshold markers.

There is no word as yet on what may have caused the incident.
