Italian manufacturer Alpi Aviation will officially launch a new light twin aircraft, the Pioneer 800 Twin, at this April’s AERO Friedrichshafen.
First seen in 2022 at AERO, Alpi’s Pioneer 800 Twin is a four-seat aircraft powered by two Rotax 916iS engines, each producing 160hp. The engines are a major upgrade from the Rotax 912iS and 915iS units Alpi was originally planning to use.
Alpi has equipped the aircraft with a Dynon HDX avionics suite, featuring 12-inch displays, providing a modern glass cockpit environment for both pilots. A ballistic parachute system is also integrated into the design, adding an additional safety layer for the aircraft and its occupants.
One of the most distinctive features of the Pioneer 800 Twin is the integration of an artificial-intelligence-based (AI) assistance system. According to Alpi, this system is designed to support pilots in real-time operational flight management, functioning as a digital co-pilot that enhances situational awareness and operational performance.
The interface is intended to remain familiar and intuitive while incorporating advanced technology. Alpi emphasises that the AI system is designed to assist rather than replace the pilot, keeping the human pilot firmly in the decision-making loop while offering support during complex phases of flight.

Alongside the Pioneer 800 Twin, Alp Aviation will also present the Syton AH helicopter, the latest evolution of a design that has been under development for more than 16 years at the company’s headquarters in San Quirino, Italy.
The latest version introduces a new turbine engine producing more than 180hp and a Dynon HDX digital cockpit, while optional gimbal and optical payload systems developed by Alpi Tech expand the helicopter’s surveillance and patrol capabilities. The Syton AH 180 will be available in both Ultralight and Experimental categories.
The fixed-wing lineup also includes the Pioneer 400, a four-seat touring aircraft fitted with a 160hp Rotax 916iS, Garmin G3X avionics, a ballistic parachute system and upgraded leather interiors. With enlarged wing tanks and a central auxiliary fuel tank, the aircraft offers more than 700nm range in economical cruise and up to six hours endurance.

Completing the display is the Pioneer 300 FG, shown in fixed-gear configuration with a 100hp Rotax 912ULS engine. A new option for 2026 is the addition of a glider towing hook, aimed at flight schools and gliding centres.
