Aviation petitions top the PM's list

E-petitioning the Prime Minister has become a trendy thing to do in the last week, thanks to the online petition calling for the ‘scrapping of the planned vehicle tracking and road pricing policy’, which made news earlier this week by reaching 1 million signatures (it’s now 1.5 million).

Less known, though, are the other petitions on the list, which include at least three on aviation matters (two of them are currently in the top 12). The first is the one calling for the Red Arrows to continue to be funded; the second calls for brownfield airfield sites not to be developed on.

A third (apart from the one calling for a regular service between London and Ercan, on Cyprus) says that Concorde should fly again.

As a follow-up to our previous Concorde story (here), the Save Concorde Group has a new image on its site – that of Concorde flying over the 2012 Olympic Stadium. Also on the site is news of the next meeting of the group, on 4 March at Jury’s Inn, Heathrow.
