An estimated 600,000 people packed into Porto to watch the latest round of the Red Bull Air Race series over the weekend. It was the inaugural running of the Portugese leg of the Red Bull series.
The winner was Briton Steve Jones, who beat series leader Mike Mangold in the final. A second Briton, Paul Bonhomme, won the consolation race to capture third spot on the day.
The result means that Mangold strengthens his position at the top of the series table, with 41 points. Bonhomme, though, is now two points behind. With two races left, it looks as though this year’s series is going to go down to the wire.
