British Aerobatics, which runs aerobatic competitions in the UK and supports British teams in international events, wants your thoughts and ideas on how it can improve its work.

The association is holding two ‘Out of the Box’ Aeros Workshops during the winter to discuss ideas over lunch. The first is at White Waltham Airfield on Sunday, 4 December between 10am and 2pm. The second will be at Leeds East Airfield on 22 January 2023.

“We’re having a major rethink of the purpose and practice of British Aerobatics and we need your help,” said Steve Todd, chairman of British Aerobatics.

“Come and join us at White Waltham for a no-holds barred ideas session on the future of the association.

“We are looking for your ideas on how to improve the association in three areas:

  • Making contests more enjoyable
  • Getting more pilots involved
  • Modernising our sport

“Plus any other thoughts you have for helping us grow and be better for everyone. We are particularly interested to hear from Club, Sports and Intermediate pilots.”

The association will be providing free lunch, free teas and coffee and promises a ‘free flow’ of ideas. Steve asks for anyone attending to let them know by email so they have an idea of numbers of people. Click here for the email address.

White Waltham is home of the West London Aero Club (WLAC) and is a centre of aerobatics. It’s one of the country’s largest grass airfields, set in 200 acres of Berkshire countryside, three miles from the M4 (J8/9). “Fly in, drive in or train it in,” said Steve.
