Normal service is being resumed in the CAA’s central London offices this morning after a burst water in Kingsway meant the building was without power on Monday and Tuesday. The water got into the basement of the CAA building, and took out a substation which is situated there. Much of the local area was also brought to a halt.
The Kingsway site houses the corporate, consumer protection, communications and airspace sections, and the Authority’s Business Continuity Plan swung into action, meaning that staff worked from Gatwick instead of central London.
