Rumours are abounding in the industry that Columbia Aircraft is on the point of being sold. One of the names being linked to the sale is Textron, Cessna’s parent.
Columbia’s 350 and 400 aircraft are well-regarded in the industry, but the company has been through troubled times with a number of hiccups last year and two periods this year in which many of the company’s employees were furloughed (laid off) for short periods and then re-hired.
There are various theories about why Cessna might be interested in buying Columbia: we are expecting to see the outcome over the next few days.
