Goodwood Aero Club is continuing to offer flying scholarships in the name of Rob Wildeboer and has set up a Crowdfunder scheme.

Rob Wildeboer was the manager of Goodwood Flying School. He died suddenly in 2021 leaving a gaping hole in the aviation community at Goodwood.

The scholarships were set up “to remember and honour Rob in accordance with the wishes of his family” with the first awards made in 2022. A second set were awarded this year, 2023, including 10 hours training a Cessna 172, 15 hours in a Piper Cub, 5-day groundschool sessions and PPL/LAPL training books from Pooleys. The scholarships for 2024 have yet to be announced.

“We know so many people have wanted to contribute towards this training programme and we hope you agree that this is the perfect way of continuing Rob’s legacy,” said the aero club.

“We will continue to teach, nurture and develop students at Goodwood Flying School in the way that Rob so successfully managed.”
