Here’s a new acronym for your aviation glossary – CAES, the Council of European Aerospace Societies. The Council is made up of eight founding members from France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland and our own Royal Aeronautical Society.
“The CEAS mission,” it says, “is to add value at a European level to the wide range of services provided by the constituent member societies, allowing for greater dialogue between the latter and the European institutions, industry, government and academia.” It will be seeking specific linkages with many of these institutions, such as EASA and the European Commission.
The first Council president is Sir Colin Terry of the RAeS.
The Council’s first conference is to take place in Berlin on 10-13 September 2007.
