Epic Dynasty on display at NBAA

Jumping on the bandwagon of the general rush towards VLJs (Very Light Jets), Canadian company Epic has announced that its single-engine Dynasty turboprop will be on display at next week’s NBAA Exhibition in Florida.

Although it’s a turboprop, the company sprinkled the acronym ‘VLJ’ around the press release announcing this, clearly hoping that similarities between the Dynasty and a light jet would be noticed. And it does have a good claimed performance: it can fill six seats on full fuel, reach 32,000 ft and cruise at up to 340 kt. Range (with optional tanks) is 1,874 nm. Cost is $1.9m.

As we reported last month, the aircraft will be the first to be certified by the new Canadian authority.

And Epic does have a real VLJ in the pipeline, too: we should here plenty about the Elite soon.
