Extra Aircraft has unveiled the latest addition to the lineup, its new EA-300LP.
The most noticeable redesigned feature is the aircraft’s cowling for improved engine air flow.
Extra engineers have also structurally enhanced the aircraft by using a lightweight carbon-fibre honeycomb composite in the cowling compared to a glass composite used in the current Extra 300 lineup.
Key features of the 300LP include a lightweight oil-cooling system, a sport carbon-fibre instrument panel, lightweight avionics package, and Teflon hose kit with integrated fire sleeves. This unique combination gives pilots a weight savings of up to 30 pounds, which allows for maximum performance and a competitive edge.
This latest high-performance model has all the design and built-in safety features of its predecessors, and has JAA-certification load factor to plus/minus 10 G’s.
Founded in the 1980s by veteran aerobatic pilot Walter Extra the product line includes three highly specialized models: the EA-300L, an aerobatic aircraft, and the EA-400 and the EA-500, business and touring aircraft.
