First flight for the Junkers A60

At this year’s AERO Friedrichshafen, Junkers Aircraft announced the new A60, a side by side ultralight. We’ve recently heard the A60 has now successfully completed its first flight, a significant milestone in the development programme.

The company describes the A60 as ‘a contemporary adaptation of the classic A50 model. Inspired by the iconic A50, the A60 offers an unrivalled design that combines the aesthetics of that era with modern innovations’.

With its open or closed cabin, side-by-side seating, Rotax 912iS, Garmin G3 and retractable undercarriage, it ticks the modern innovation box – although we’re not so sure that it shares a great deal of aesthetics with the absolutely drop-dead gorgeous A50 shown below.
