FLYER: the paywall is in place

Flyer club team

The paywall has arrived! From now on, the FLYER website has a paywall meaning you need to join as a member of The FLYER Club to continue to access all our content and take advantage of the benefits.

FLYER boss Ian Seager said,  “I wanted to explain the big changes that are happening and to ask you to consider joining The FLYER Club.

“We’ve now had our new website up and running for a month or so, and I hope you’ll agree that it now provides a great way to consume all of our content on anything from a smartphone to the biggest screen desktop. After some (very frustrating) early performance issues with the forum, things are now zipping along faster than ever. Phew!

“All of our content is now produced and delivered via the website, with new content being delivered daily. Some of that content will still be accessible (mainly news, events and some Learn to Fly content), but the vast majority will be behind the paywall. Initially all of the forum will remain accessible but we will be introducing some member-only areas in the near future.”

If you join The FLYER Club you get unlimited access to the following:

  • All of our content
  • Upcoming member-only areas of the forum
  • Free landing fees
  • Twice weekly weather briefs from Simon Keeling
  • Many member benefits

All this for £52 per year – £1 per week for access to everything we produce.

Ian continued, “Yes, it is possible to get access to almost all of our news, events, pretty much all of our Learn To Fly content, and to most of the forum without paying a single penny, but speaking frankly, that’s not a sustainable model.

“We believe that a combination of members and selected aviation advertisers provides a great sustainable future that will bring you great daily content, a brilliant forum, weekly Livestream video plus lots more.

“If you are not already a paid member, and you think all of that is worth just £1 per week, please join us as a member. The entire FLYER team would love to have you on board.

“To join, please go to flyer.co.uk/membership and choose the option that suits you. It’s a quick and easy process and you’ll be ready and going in no time.

“Thanks for your time and I look forward to meeting you at an airfield soon.”
