Flylight sells 100th single-seat microlight

Flylight has announced the 100th order for a sub-115kg single-seat microlight, all sold in the last four years.
Ben Ashman, Director at Flylight, explained, “Here in the UK, the general enquiries have been steadily increasing over the last four years, certainly as the cost of aviation in general has risen considerably.
“It is still very much a minority past time but the trend does seem to show a growth in single seat ownership. The previous best selling British single seat microlight was the Aerial Arts Chaser S, we have now surpassed that by almost 30 aircraft and in considerably smaller amount of time.”
Ben added, “I think the attraction of pure economics coupled with a very understated flight performance, the modern microlight has already made its mark. Albeit with two-seat fixed wing designs, once the individual has been exposed to the microlight world, interest in the single seaters is a natural way forward. In a similar vain as getting a motorbike for pure pleasure whilst complementing the car. A single seat and a two-seat microlight can still be done on less budget than that needed for a single GA aircraft.”
