A new partnership between Flynqy Pilot Training and Aerobility is set to bring disabled flying opportunities to Cornwall and the wider southwest, with Cornwall Airport Newquay becoming the charity’s latest UK base.
Aerobility, which enables people living with disabilities to experience the freedom of flight, has teamed up with Newquay-based Flynqy to expand its nationwide network.
The collaboration makes Cornwall Airport Newquay Aerobility’s fourth UK site, joining Blackbushe, Lydd and Tatenhill.
Aircraft at Flynqy are being fitted with modifications tailored to those with limb differences and reduced mobility, while instructors are undergoing specialist training in hoisting equipment to ensure safe boarding.

Andrew Boomer, Operations Director at Cornwall Airport Newquay, said, “Making aviation more inclusive is an essential part of our ongoing commitment to accessibility. This partnership brings real change and opportunity to people living with disabilities in Cornwall and the southwest.”
Flynqy directors Zara Dinnacombe and George Weller, who took over the business earlier this year, said the collaboration built on the success of a joint event in 2024.
“Aerobility is an inspiring and passionate charity dedicated to making a difference. We’re incredibly proud to join the Aerobility family and bring inclusive aviation opportunities to Cornwall and Devon.”
Aerobility’s Chief Flying Instructor, Al Rosser, said the expansion marked an important milestone in the charity’s mission: “It allows us to reach even more people who can benefit from the euphoric power of flight. In time, we hope to extend our junior courses and scholarships through Flynqy.”
