Goodwood launches the Rob Wildeboer Scholarships

Rob Wildeboer flying scholarships

Goodwood Aerodrome has launched a number of scholarships to remember and honour Rob Wildeboer, the Goodwood Flying School Manager, who died last year after a sudden illness.

Rob joined Goodwood straight from school aged 16, initially as an aircraft engineering apprentice, making his way to Aviation General Manager before managing the Goodwood Flying School.

“Rob was a one-man institution at the Aerodrome, loved by all who came into contact with him and absolutely integral to everything we do in the aviation business,” said a statement from Goodwood.

“To remember and honour Rob in accordance with the wishes of his family, a number of scholarships will be offered through Goodwood Flying School, made possible by kind donations from the community.”

The scholarships available for 2022 are:

  • 15 hours training in the Cessna 172
  • 15 hours training in the Piper Cub
  • 5 hours towards a tailwheel conversion
  • PPL/LAPL course training books from Pooleys Flight Equipment
