Leading north-west helicopter company Helicentre, based at Liverpool, is expanding to Manchester City Airport. Helicentre will take over the Manchester location from Heli Air.

“The new Manchester base will help us to further broaden our customer base and range of services,” said Jon Rayner, Helicentre’s managing director.

“Helicentre and Heli Air have enjoyed a close working relationship for decades and I’m delighted to strengthen that bond. We’re also looking forward to working closely with City Airport to help us to provide first class helicopter training and commercial charter operations.”

Heli Air started operations at Manchester in 2013 and seen the business grow, offering helicopter sales and management, flight experiences, PPL(H) and CPL(H) training and type ratings.

Helicentre has been providing helicopter training and AOC commercial operations for more than 20 years. It will also provide training for flight instructors at Barton and concentrate on VIP, business and wedding transport services with its Airbus Helicopters.
