JMB launches Phoenix motor glider

For the past few weeks Belgian aircraft maker JMB Aircraft has been running teasers on social media about a new aircraft. Well, it’s here: the Phoenix motor glider.

JMB Aircraft says it’s “a reasonably priced aircraft which can serve as a cross-country capable aircraft and as a glider which will satisfy most sailplane enthusiasts. The Phoenix has a range of over 900 miles and speeds exceeding 115 knots.”

The Phoenix is being produced at the JMB facilities in the Czech Republic and custiomers will have a selection of exterior and interior packages.

Limited numbers of the motor glider will be made. Just six this year, 12 in 2025 and 20 in 2026.

The Phoenix has a glide ratio of 32:1, a 100hp Rotax 912 ULS engine, and a 2,000 hour TBO. JMB says it will be on show at AERO Friedrichshafen in April.
