Kemble Airfield has won a major battle in its war to stay open.
The airfield, which has been the subject of a number of closure threats over recent years from the two local councils whose territory it falls into, yesterday got clearance from one of those councils when Cotswold District Council’s planning committee voted to permit the airport’s application for a certificate of lawful use.
The airport is hoping that the other council – North Wiltshire – will follow suit.
Airport manager David Young expressed delight at the outcome.
