Leading Edge Aviation has been selected by the UK Ministry of Defence to support a new military pilot training programme, the company announced today.
The Oxford-based academy will provide structured training for both experienced aircrew and new entrants moving into multi-engine and multi-crew operations under an initial two-year contract covering up to 34 pilots.
Training will be delivered using the company’s Diamond DA40 and DA42 aircraft and simulators, culminating in the APS MCC course, which focuses on competency-based pilot training and assessment.
Dave Alexander, Chief Operations Officer at Leading Edge Aviation and a former RAF pilot, said the company was “immensely proud” to support RAF flying training.
“We are delighted to have this opportunity to contribute to the development of military pilots who will go on to operate in some of the most demanding environments,” he said.
The programme is designed to strengthen both technical flying skills and non-technical competencies including leadership, decision-making and crew resource management.
Leading Edge Aviation already provides training for RAF pilots assigned to the Envoy VIP aircraft fleet, and said the new agreement further reinforces its role in military and civil aviation training.
