Liberty to honour Alpha deposits

The March issue of FLYER magazine (on sale now) carries the news that New Zealand-based Alpha Aviation has gone into receivership. Now Liberty Aircraft (based in Melbourne, Florida) has stepped in and offered to honour the deposits of anybody who had previously put down money on an Alpha 120T, 160A or 160Ai aircraft.

Those wishing to take up this offer should be able to provide proof of the deposit on the Alpha having been paid, and will have to enter into a binding purchase agreement. Liberty is promising to honour up to $10,000 (US) towards the purchase of one of its own XL2 aircraft (subject to demand and availability, and for a limited time only).

The XL2 is the brainchild of UK designer Ivan Shaw, who also created the Europa kitplane.

Earlier in the year, German company Remos offered to honour deposits put down on Cessna’s forthcoming SkyCatcher.
