A new four-seat all-metal factory-built aircraft will be launched at next week’s EAA AirVenture Oshkosh: the Montaer MC-04.

The Montaer MC-04 is a development of the existing two-seat MC-01, produced by Brazilian company Montaer Aeronaves LTDA. The MC-04 will take advantage of the new MOSAIC (Modernization of Airworthiness Certificates) rules due to come into force this year.

Montaer also plans to transfer part of its aircraft assembly, support, and training operations to the US, which should mitigate the import tariffs imposed by President Trump.

The MC-04 is set to launch on 26 July 2025 and so far the company has only published a ‘teaser’ photo of the cockpit (above).

It features a fuselage constructed using 4130 molybdenum steel and aluminium, a welded safety cell and ballistic parachute. It’s powered by a 160hp Rotax 916iS driving a variable pitch propeller.

Montaer says the MC-04 has a cruise speed of 132 knots, a range of 800nm and a climb rate of 1,300 feet per minute. It has “a payload capacity exceeding 544 kg, allows the MC-04 to comfortably carry four passengers and luggage.”

Bruno de Oliveira, founder of Montaer and the aircraft’s designer, said, “The MC-04 is a game-changer for American pilots, combining the capacity of a four-seater with the reliability and performance they demand.

“By transferring part of our assembly, support, and training to the US, we’re deepening our commitment to delivering an aircraft that redefines light aviation with safety and consistency.”

The MC-04’s cockpit is equipped Garmin avionics, with two configurations: the Premium package, featuring dual G3X touchscreens, and the IFR package, with the advanced GTN 750Xi and Garmin GMC 507 autopilot.
