New UK altitude record attempt

A microlight pilot from Ince Blundell is attempting a new UK altitude record this summer.

According to David Beech’s website, he will be attempting to break the British altitude record of 25,000 ft set in 1983 by Bob Calvert.

“I intend to get to 28,000 ft+ and maybe carry on (depending on fuel and oxygen levels) to 32,900 ft to claim the world record which is currently held by the French.”
