Nottingham Tollerton gets new owner

Nottingham’s Tollerton Airport has been bought by resident flying club Truman Aviation.

With a bidding price rumoured to be around £5m, the club outbid over 20 other consortia, including a number of housing developers. The club was supported by local residents, who didn’t want the site being turned into housing or an industrial estate.

Truman is now looking to invest in the airport, renovating or rebuilding many of the structures and even looking into re-opening one of the disused runways.

It is also looking to forge greater links with Nottingham businesses, intending to make the airfield the aerial gateway to the city. Among these plans are to apply for an AOC to operate an air taxi service.
