Reclassification of Channel Islands airspace

The CAA has announced the reclassification and redesignation of Channel Islands airspace, effective from 6 March 2014.
The CICZ and CTAs 1 & 2 up to FL80 will now be reclassified as Class D airspace and the status of Channel Islands airspace will be reconfigured as a CI CTR up to FL80 (Class D).
Further changes mean that Jersey, Guernsey and Alderney aerodromes will no longer have CTRs, and Class A airspace will be retained from FL80 up to FL195.
UK AIP text and aerodrome charts have been changed. Aerodrome charts will be distributed by a Single AIRAC cycle with hard copy distribution on 23 January 2014, and electronic chart graphics available on the NATS AIS eAIP website from 6 February 2014.
Due to the later publication of Southern England 1:500,000 chart, reclassification details will be shown on the UK Southern England 1:500,000 chart published on 3 April 2014.
The reclassification was first proposed in February 2013, when a thorough review of CI airspace was proposed by The Channel Islands (CI) Airports authorities to bring it up to date.
