Shuttleworth has announced a packed calendar of airshows for its 2026 season, including a fresh theme, expanded attractions and the welcome return of some much-loved favourites.
Old Warden Airfield, close to Biggleswade, is home to the world-famous Shuttleworth Collection. The Collection is celebrating a record-breaking 2025 season with more than 30,000 visitors expected by the end of October. Building on that success, the 2026 programme will feature seven themed air shows running from May to October.
The season opens on Sunday 10 May with the traditional Season Premiere, showcasing the Collection’s historic aircraft alongside visiting displays.
Later that month, on Saturday 30 May, Shuttleworth introduces Wings & Wheels, a new theme combining aviation, vehicles and heritage machinery. As well as afternoon and evening flying, visitors can expect a racing simulator, ‘show and shine’ area and live performances centred around a new Shuttleworth Marquee.
The ever-popular Festival of Flight returns across 27–28 June, promising the biggest gathering of ground attractions and visiting aircraft yet seen at the venue.
All airworthy Collection aircraft will fly across the weekend, with a new camping bundle allowing enthusiasts to stay on site.
High summer sees the Summer Air Show on 25 July, followed by Flying Proms on 15 August. The Proms combine classical music with aerial displays, this time enhanced by a new Grand Marquee package offering reserved tables, exclusive bar access and prime views.
On 29 August, the Military Air Show will again bring living history to Old Warden, with an expanded camp area of vehicles, re-enactments and machinery to complement the flying programme.
The season concludes on 4 October with Race Day, celebrating Collection founder Richard Shuttleworth’s racing heritage with the Shuttleworth Sprint and guest vehicles.
Shuttleworth shows include free ground attractions such as Discovery Zones, vintage bus rides, funfairs, simulators and access to the Swiss Garden. Children under 18 go free (excluding Flying Proms), parking is included, and groups of 15 or more benefit from discounts. Popular extras include flightline tours and on-site accommodation.
Marc Boult, Head of Visitor Operations, said, “After months of planning, we’re delighted to be sharing our new dates and themes for 2026. We’ve all of the Shuttleworth staples our visitors have come to love, along with a new theme plus some exciting new developments.”
