Flight training academy ACS Aviation has become the first Tecnam Aircraft service centre in Scotland offering specialist aircraft maintenance and technical support.

ACS Aviation, based at Perth Airport, has also ordered two Tecnam P-Mentor aircraft to expand its fleet in 2023.

The Tecnam P-Mentor is a single engine IFR two-seater aircraft, offering flight schools a single platform for student pilots – from first flight up to advanced training including the Instrument Rating.

“Tecnam’s P-Mentor aircraft will allow us to significantly reduce our carbon footprint in commercial flight training and Upset Prevention Recovery Training with the added benefit of state-of-the-art instrumentation,” said Craig McDonald, Technical Director at ACS Aviation.

“This order is the start of a long-term fleet replacement and sustainability plan which will see us continue to grow the business and provide our student pilots with the latest technology over the coming years.”

Edwin Brenninkmeyer, CEO of Oriens Aviation, the Tecnam agent for the British Isles, added, “Oriens Aviation is delighted to welcome ACS Aviation to the Tecnam family as the launch customer for the P-Mentor in the British Isles and the first service centre for Tecnam in Scotland.”
