Tecnam Twin makes first flight

Tecnam Aircraft – the Italian company which makes, among other things, the P92 Echo Super and the P2004 Bravo – reports that it has carried out the first flight of its P2006T Very Light Twin aircraft.

The aircraft, which was first seen in public at this year’s Friedrichshafen exhibition, flew from Capua airport earlier this week with pilots Canetto and De Blasio. The company reports that the flights so far have ‘confirmed the excellent flight characteristics of the aircraft, both in terms of ease of flying and performance’.

The P2006T uses two 98 hp Rotax 912S engines that are robust and economical, which have allowed it to display ‘notable’ short take-off and landing distances.

The company goes on to claim: ‘this is a unique aircraft in the current aviation market. It is appropriate for personal use and commercial applications as well as for use in flight schools. The low fuel consumption and high reliability along with the flexibility of fuel options, AutoGas and 100LL, make this aircraft extremely attractive from an economic point of view and will provide the opportunity for higher utilization and profitability for any commercial application.’
