Three die in Alps crash

Three people, one a child, died on Saturday evening when the aircraft they were flying in – a PA-34 Piper Seneca – crashed into the side of a mountain in the French Alps, apparently in a snowstorm.

The aircraft was based at Shoreham. French authorities are saying that the three occupants appeared to be from the same family. The pilot is believed to have been of American nationality, living in the UK.
