Significant changes are coming to private pilot licensing that promise to boost the world of microlight flying and three jobs being offered by the British Microlight Aircraft Association (BMAA) are opportunities to get into this booming sector.

The PPL changes (explained here) will make it possible to start flying with a fixed-wing microlight aircraft and then progress all the way through, should you wish, to a professional pilot licence.

And that’s in addition to the already in place 600kg ‘Light Sport Microlight’ category of aircraft, which is also having a transformative effect.

The three roles on offer are “key to the continued development of our BMAA team and will significantly enhance capacity within the Tech Office,” said the BMAA’s new CEO Owain Johns.

The vacancies follow recent promotions and a staff restructure at the BMAA.

“We’re looking for passionate, skilled individuals who are ready to contribute to a dynamic and forward-thinking team,” said Owain.

The roles are:

  • Chief Inspector
  • Design Approval Engineer
  • Safety Officer

“For all the roles, if you would like to have an informal chat about these opportunities don’t hesitate to contact me,” said Owain.
