A reminder that applications for The Air League’s 2026 Flying, Gliding and Electric Flying Scholarships are open now. They offer opportunities for aspiring pilots and aviation professionals to progress their careers.
Over the past decade the charity has awarded more than £2.5 million in scholarships and bursaries to young people across the UK, and now provides over 120 awards annually, making it one of the UK’s most wide-ranging aviation scholarship provider.
The Air League is looking for applicants with a genuine passion for aviation and aerospace, along with the commitment and determination to succeed.
Further changes and new opportunities are being introduced for the 2025–26 cycle, aimed at strengthening career pathways for future pilots, engineers and other aviation professionals.

The Flying Scholarships are delivered in three progressive levels, designed to support candidates from complete beginner through to near-licence standard:
A two-day introduction to powered flight, combining flying and ground school. Ideal for those with little or no experience, covering aircraft familiarisation, basic checklists, fuelling procedures and introductory radio calls
A three to four day course for those with previous experience. Training includes taxiing, take-off, climbing, turning and more advanced radio procedures, alongside extended ground school which may include elements of Air Law
Delivered over ten days, this award is designed to help top-performing candidates achieve first solo, or assist previous scholars with the remaining hours required to complete a PPL
The Air League is also continuing its commitment to sustainable aviation through its Electric Flying Scholarships. These include five hours on the Pipistrel Velis Electro, plus simulator time, ground school and sustainability-focused sessions.
The Air League flying scholarships are open until 22 March 2026.
