Cabair and Flybe in sponsorship scheme

Flybe wannabes now have the chance to have part of their training course paid for. The scheme, being run in conjunction with Cabair Flying Schools, has been developed over the past 12 years and is aimed at providing high quality first officers to work on the Dash 8 Q400 fleet.

Flybe will make a ‘substantial contribution’ towards the cost of a full JAA Approved Integrated ATPL course conducted at Cabair’s Cranfield base. More than 50 pilots have already ‘benefited as a result of’ the airline’s partnership with Cabair, and several of them are now captains.

According to Cabair’s sponsorship page:

‘Successful applicants will complete a Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA) Approved Integrated Course at CCAT, Cranfield and, on graduation, will join the Flybe Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 fleet as First Officers. The course of pilot training is scheduled for completion in 58 weeks.

‘ Applicants must meet the following requirements :
– Be able to demonstrate clear commitment, loyalty and a passion to fly.
– Have the unrestricted right to work in the UK.
– Have an absolute minimum of two A levels, to include Mathematics and Physics (or science based subjects)
– Hold, or be capable of holding, a UK issued JAA Class 1 Medical Certificate.
– Have no more than 60 hours of previous flying experience.
