Cessna announces glass cockpit

From the middle of next year you’ll be able to specify a glass cockpit option with your new C182 or C206. The Garmin G1000 will be offered in the Nav III package and will provide both MFD (Multi Function Display) and PFD (Primary Flight Display). The G1000 has already been selected by Cessna for their Citation Mustang, and by Diamond for the DA42 Twin Star, and as an option on the DA40.

With Cirrus Design offering the Avidyne Entegra glass cockpit as standard on their range of aircraft it seems that advanced solid state avionics are becoming the norm in general aviation aircraft.
