It’s an unusual move, but very welcome. Coventry Airport has cut its landing fees for all aircraft, by up to 60 percent.
The airport’s new management – CAFCO-C, which acquired the airport in 2006 – says that “it is demonstrating its commitment to attract new airlines” by the cuts in handling charges and landing fees.
But, Coventry tells us, it doesn’t just apply to airlines. We asked them, and they confirmed that a C152 would be £10 plus VAT, the same for a PA-28 up to 1,000 kg. The previous price would have been £16.30 – a saving of £6.30.
The airport also says: “Parking charges have been changed to a flat fee of £25 or £30, rather than per tonne, and Coventry Airport has also appointed an additional on-site distributor for AVGAS. Previously only available from Coventry Airport Fuelling, the new contract, based at Coventry Airport North, will provide greater operational efficiency for airport customers.”
