Emirates airline to hire 1,500 new pilots

Emirates has announced plans to recruit more than 1,500 pilots over the next two years, with over 550 new hires expected in 2025 alone.

The announcement came on World Pilots’ Day as the Dubai-based airline paid tribute to the global pilot community.

The recruitment drive supports Emirates’ ongoing growth and fleet expansion. The airline currently operates 261 wide-body aircraft, including Airbus A380s, Boeing 777s, and the newly introduced A350. With a network spanning 148 destinations across six continents, Emirates says it offers pilots an unparalleled flying experience and “the best office in the world.”

The airline is particularly highlighting its Accelerated Command programme, designed to fast-track First Officers to Captain, with over 80 pilots currently progressing through the scheme.

Pilots joining Emirates can expect a comprehensive benefits package. This includes a tax-free salary, profit-sharing, premium medical coverage, and generous annual leave—plus travel perks such as First or Business Class tickets for family and deeply discounted flights for friends and relatives. Emirates also offers luxury accommodation in gated communities, chauffeur-driven commutes, and access to exclusive retail and leisure discounts via the Emirates Platinum Card.

The airline plans to conduct pilot recruitment roadshows in more than 40 cities in 2025. Following successful sessions in Italy, Emirates will head to Norway, Finland and Sweden in May.

Prospective pilots can apply across four categories: Direct Entry Captains, Accelerated Command, Type-Rated First Officers, and Non-Type Rated First Officers. Full eligibility details are available at emiratesgroupcareers.com/pilots.

Since 2022, nearly 2,000 pilots have joined the Emirates flight crew, which now numbers around 4,600.
