Sandown airport on the Isle of Wight was closed yesterday while 60 firefighters tackled a blaze at a hangar on the site.
The hangar housed Aviation and Marine Composites, which manufactures components for the aviation and boating industries. It is believed that there was glass fibre and Butanox stored in the hangar, and the rescue services advised people in the area to keep their windows closed during the fire.
The fire brigade quickly had the fire under control, and there were reported to be no injuries.
