7 April 2026
FLYER has launched a new campaign to encourage people to learn to fly. It’s called Learn to Fly Month and we’re proud to announce it’s supported by British Airways.
The whole of April and into the first week of May will be Learn to Fly Month. FLYER has updated and re-written in some cases our many articles about learning to fly, including our landmark feature What Does It Cost to Get a PPL(A) in 2026.
In addition, there are articles on learning to fly microlights, gyrocopters, helicopters and additional material on gliding. These will be released as we go through the month, thus ensuring a steady flow of new material.

What’s more, all of our Learn to Fly articles are free to read. Much of FLYER‘s content is behind a paywall, including access to our free landings fees and most of the FLYER Forum. However, the Student Forum is also free, again to support people taking up flying for the first time.
Don’t forget also that The FLYER Show, broadcast at 7.30pm every Thursday on the FLYER YouTube channel, and available on catch-up afterwards, is also free to watch.
