Kent’s London Ashford International Airport – also known as Lydd – has been forced to lose 25 from its workforce. The job cuts are being blamed on uncertainty over the future. “It will involve restructuring and merging departments, with the loss of 19 jobs at LAA [London Ashford Airport] and also six jobs with FAL Aviation, a subsidiary based at the airport,” said a spokesman for the airport.
The airport currenlty has plans pending for a new terminal building and a runway extension, but getting the approval for them is taking longer than expected.
