More on the Tecnam Twin

Among the new aircraft at Aero 2007 at Friedrichshafen was a mock-up of the Tecnam P2006T twin.

The aircraft that was on display at Friedrichshafen, the only example, hasn’t flown yet – in fact, it was finished and fitted out only just prior to the show – but the company expects that the first flight will happen in the next couple of weeks.

The factory is expecting a 145 kt cruise at 75 percent power from the two Rotax 912s, and a max weight takeoff distance (to 50ft) as short as 450 m. Gross weight is 1180 kg, the aircraft’s 720 kg empty weight allowing a useful load of 460 kg. The four-place all-metal aircraft is expected to sell in basic form (with analogue instruments) for 260,000 Euros.
